Going back down “Memory Lane”

I was recently asked to carry out detailed valuation analyses for a client who owns a wonderful historic Grade II listed Georgian house in the heart of Westminster.

In researching the comparable evidence, I found that the last house sold in the street had been, according to the agents details, in the same ownership for the past 22 years and hadn’t been touched on the inside since.

I duly met the selling agent and asked him if the vendor was a lady Scottish Dr which he confirmed and on telling me her name – the penny dropped. I sold it to her 22 years ago when an agent at Strutt & Parker. Why I remembered her so well was that on one of our tours I mentioned that my (then) infant daughter was unwell. She said take me to her right away and I will check her over. She did and all was well. My daughter is now 23.
