Law Commission delay to release date on Consultation Response

As I mentioned in my July 2018 blog, the Law Commission has been consulting as to reforms designed to simplify the enfranchisement process.

Reforms such as removing the two year ownership requirement for participators, abolishing the disqualification of owners of more than 2 flats in the building from participating in a collective claim, introducing a new right for tenants in a collective claim to require the landlord to take a leaseback of any flats let on long leases to non-participating tenants and simplifying the formula for calculating the level of premium.

The commission had hoped to release its response to its Consultation Paper this month, but this has now been delayed until November.

So as ever, watch this space for the formal responses which I will post here the moment they are released.
